D-RoTH Partners with GCI

This partnership will permit GCI to provide state-of-the-technology alarm management training and services to pipelining industry.  This is especially important due to the rapid pace of regulatory requirements for improved alarm management and HMI design for operational integrity.

Gas Certification Institute (GCI) offers a unique proving ground to certify your equipment and personnel to make sure they are ready for the battle ahead. Our live gas pipeline lets you see how your equipment will perform in real-world applications and gives field technicians a chance to apply learnings from the classroom to a live gas pipeline environment.

Our October 2009 SCADA workshop was a real success.  Look for additional ones in 2010.

Walt Boyes, Editor of Control Magazine,
Speaks Out on Alarm Management:

2009 is in the "home stretch":
 Alarm Management
Remains Low-Risk, High-Benefit, and Cost-Effective

** A Downturn in the Economy is a High-Risk Time to
Have a Poorly Performing Alarm System and
Weak Operator Support
**

CSB Chairman John Bresland -- "My safety message for oil and chemical companies is clear: even during economic downturns, spending for needed process safety measures must be maintained."

Chairman Bresland noted that the CSB investigation of the 2005 Texas City refinery disaster linked the accident to corporate spending decisions in the 1990s, when low oil prices triggered cutbacks in maintenance, training, and operator positions at the plant.

ISA18 issued and been approved by ANSI as the first US formal guide in the subject.

Expectations are that most industrial sites
